Once the protagonist encounters their family, they are slowly transported back down through the caves they explored all the way to the starting tent, and the dots illuminating the mine slowly disappear. It is revealed that the protagonist ventured so deep into the mine that they eventually died there, and they are now reliving their dying memories while their family mourns them on the surface. As the protagonist traverses the cave, they note that no one has gone this deep into the mine before they find evidence of a cultist monastery who performed sacrifices as well as witch-hunts, as well as various remnants of mining expeditions, a lot of which ended in tragedy. The player awakens in a tent inside a cave after finding an augmented reality headset and a LIDAR scanner, the player can illuminate the surrounding environment using dots. She made up some nonsense excuse and has obviously changed her mind about moving in. Roo returns home to find a sombre Alf, who tells her to cancel the party – Martha's not coming. Alf and Roo make sure everything is prepared – she wryly forces Alf to realise he'll need to find extra space for all of Martha's stuff. Ben opens up, admitting that his depression hit their marriage hard, but Maggie has never doubted her love for him – she would never leave him because she would never be happy again. She jokes, but he feels guilty about his behaviour while he was depressed. He echoes Dean's insecurities by admitting he rarely feels good enough for Maggie – even now. Ben sees himself in Dean and understands his feeling of inadequacy. Maggie is cautious, expecting this 'up' to be followed by a steep 'down'.īen shares his concerns over Dean. Roo spots them, delighted they are back on track. He spoils her and they enjoy a lovely meal in Salt. She goes along with the fun, but is curious about Ben's motives. He surprises Maggie by insisting they get dressed up and head out. Meanwhile, Ben returns from talking to Dean with plenty on his mind.
